Repair and maintenance to substations for Ekurhuleni

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality commissioned Ai-TEC to undertake a repair and maintenance programme at power substations and mini substations in the municipality’s areas of responsibility, including Boksburg. “This highly specialised project, which encompasses the repair and upgrading of electrical structures, involves the installation of quality branded high tension (HT) breakers, contacts and switch enclosures,” says Arnold Retief, a director of Ai-TEC, specialists in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of industrial and commercial equipment. “A highlight of this project was that all reticulation work on high tension cables was completed within 18 hours – an achievement the Ekurhuleni municpality was impressed with. “The team was also responsible for extending, coupling and connecting all high tension cables, as well as for the repair and maintenance work on low voltage cabling.” Ai-TEC adheres to a stringent quality and safety specifications in every installation, to ensure compliance with local and international standards.” The company submitted all the necessary safety documents, permits and risk assessments before the commencement of operations, to ensure all work complies with stringent specifications for this project. Ai-TEC’s quality standards conform to ISO 9001:2008 QMS certification.This project is due for completion at the end of June 2012.
