SEW Eurodrive has announced the launch of a repair service for servo motors at their Cape Town branch in Montague Gardens. The move comes after market demands for a faster turnaround time in the event of a breakdown. The maintenance requirements of SEW servo motors are generally relatively low. The high accuracy and reliability of these servo motors is well-known in the market place. However, break-downs can happen to any product, and when it does happen, the motor needs to be repaired as fast as possible to ensure minimum loss in productivity and maximum factory availability. In the past these units were sent to Germany for repairs, and customers would usually replace the unit to minimise their downtime. Since the launch of the new service, customers have the option of sending their motors to the servo specialists at the company's Cape Town branch for repairs. Not only does this new initiative save the customer time, it also saves money.
