With its new inverter drive series A1000, Yaskawa Electric presents a portfolio for the performance ranges 0,4 to 110 kW (200 V) and 0,4 to 630 kW (400 V). Replacing the Varispeed F7, the series features both smaller dimensions and improved motor control algorithms. The new inverters can drive a wide scope of motor types – from standard asynchronous motors to interior (IPM) or surface mounted (SPM) permanent magnet synchronous motors. Permanent magnet motors offer the user both availability of full motor torque at standstill, and easy positioning. A detachable digital operator with text display and copy function supports the user by offering simple parametration. Basic control functions can be carried out in the inverter drive itself. The required adaptations can be made via the "drag and drop" function in the graphic programming tool Driveworks EZ. In many applications, the tool can take over part or even all of the workload of an external master controller.
