Topcon Europe Positioning has supplied a record breaking number of monitoring instruments to Crossrail contractors BBMV for use on the C510 contract – construction of Crossrail’s Liverpool Street and Whitechapel Station platform tunnels. ESS Safeforce placed the order for 105 Topcon MS05AX Total Stations following the awarding of the Crossrail C510 contract to ESS customer Morgan Sindall, part of the BBMV partnership. Having conducted extensive field testing of available instruments from all manufacturers, Morgan Sindall concluded that the MS05AX was by far the best sensor for the monitoring project. Using intelligent algorithms and high accuracy imaging sensors, the MS-AX Total Station series is able to detect and locate all established prisms, even in low light or dark conditions. Once located, it then measures the prisms quickly and reliably, virtually eliminating any sources of human error.
